Spigots
These fixtures are crafted out of Duplex 2205 Stainless Steel, and are designed to effectively withstand extremely harsh environments (ie. on the ground near a pool area/beachfront homes balconies; subject to chlorine, salt water etc). Duplex 2205 is not only a structurally stronger stainless steel than standard 304,316 or 316L, but is also more resistant to corrosion, due to it’s added levels of Nickel, Chromium, Molybdenum and Nitrogen. Duplex 2205 Stainless Steel is also commonly used for Marine Propelor Shafts.
Our spigots are designed and tested to be applicable with 12mm frameless glass for pool fencing and balustrading as per the requirements outlined in AS1926.1-2007,AS1288 & AS1926. Clamping of the spigots onto the glass utilises a friction based system which uses two M8 grub screws, and a pressure plate to secure the glass. Friction based glass hardware, when possible to use, is superior in that, every hole put into a panel of glass weakens it’s overall strength. So steer clear of spigots that require a hole in the panel!
The spigots come in two basic styles, square or round. With those styles are also the options of using a shaft (for core drilled concrete applications) or a base plate (for fixation onto a deck or area where core drilling is not possible). Those options also then come in either a matte or polished finish.
